A matter of scale
Irene Kopelman (born 1974). Originally from Argentina, Kopelman moved to the Netherlands in 2002 to participate in a residency at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam. She had participated in numerous solo and group exhibition. Her interdisciplinary practice entails long term collaboration with several research institutions. In addition, Kopelman has published a number artist books including Three interventions in a space (2003) and Notes on Representation- which has now 11 volumes.

At Tara I am working with the images generated by an instrument called Flow Cam—which process sea water samples into bidimensional images in the computer, thousands of images from a condense sample collected at sea.
The immensity of the ocean into a tiny sample in which we can find thousands of samples had captured my attention.
